Basic Infrastructure

Water and electricity:
Taichung has a surplus of electricity and is home two major power stations--Taipower's Taichung Thermal Power Plant at Taichung Port and the Dajia River Hydropower Plant. The City Water Works supplies ample water for civil and industrial uses. In addition, there is another power station located in the Industrial Zone with a water storage tower in the same zone to supply water and electricity for the use of industry.

Financial and monetary conditions:
The city's thriving industries and businesses are supported by an extensive financial services network that includes 373 local bank branches, 12 foreign bank branches and 22 credit cooperatives.  International banking names with a presence in Taichung include Citibank, HSBC, Standard Chartered, DBS Bank, UBS, ANZ, Bangkok Bank, and Mizuho Corporate Bank. 

Medical care:
The city's medical network is comprehensive with a complete emergency medical care system in Taichung area to give patients necessary care. There four medical centers, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, China Medical University Hospital, and two Chungshan Medical University Hospital branches.  Taichung also has 12 regional hospitals, 55 district hospitals, and 3,067 medical clinics.

Career training:
The Career Counseling Assistance Center and Career Training Center of Central Taiwan provide practical courses and various services to the general public.
