Art Street isn't the only attractive destination worth checking out for shopping and dining on the other side of the freeway.

On the opposite side of TaiZhongGang (Taichung Harbor) Road from GuoJi Street is Tunghai University's well-known college town community, known better as Tunghai BieShu. Turning left at the pedestrian overpass at the top of the hill takes one into the cramped, crowded street and alleyways of this mini-boomtown, full of music shops, small eateries, Internet cafes and other stores.

Being a university district, this area is choc-a-bloc with reasonably-priced shopping for student-sized budgets. Options range from day-to-day necessities to fashion to CDs and other entertainment products. One big draw is the abundance of great food stalls and small restaurants.
