Taichung City Government Police Department will be providing services of protecting home security for foreign residents during this upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year period.

Taichung City Government Police Department will be providing services of protecting home security for foreign residents during this upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year period(Feb. 8 to Feb. 27, 2015). Foreign residents who’ll be away from their homes may request local police concerned to install temporary patrol boxes at an appropriate place for regular police patrols. They are advised to apply for the services as follows: 1. Call the police hotline 110 during office hours (08:30-17:30). 2. Apply for the services in person at their local police stations.

Many worshippers always flock to Dajia Chenlan Mazu Temple (大甲鎮瀾宮媽祖廟) during the Chinese New Year, causing traffic congestion along National Highway No. 3, the Dajia Interchange, the Jiahou Road (甲后路) and other routes to Dajia City. Taking note of this annual phenomenon, the Dajia Precinct has been using major media and the Internet to urge people to take train and/or public bus for the Mazu worship.
