"Joint library exhibitions of 2011 award-winning books" is scheduled to take place from January 7, 2012 to February 10, 2012 at all the district libraries in Taichung City, Wuchi Library and Information Center, and Datun Cultural Center. On exhibition are five categories of books, including Top Ten Books (in Chinese writing), Top Ten Translated Books, Best Youth Books, Best Children's Books, and Happy Living Book Series. It is highly recommended that you take a look at the 42 award-winning books; they are what you can not afford to miss. Among them, the best children's book "I Saw a Bird" is co-published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government and Children’s Publications Co., Ltd. The book describes: Accompanied by her mother, a little girl went to Dakeng Scenic Area to observe nature, a homework assignment from school. She drew a bird that no one has ever seen. To find out what the bird is, the curious little girl and her mother took on a search journey.
Along the way, they saw sparrows, wild pigeons, Muller’s Barbet, Formosan Blue Magpie, Formosan Black Drongo, Chinese Bamboo Partridge, Black Bulbul, etc. and etc. Do they really find that wild bird again? Many more award-winning books are on display in the libraries of each administrative district. You are warmly invited to read good books and have a blessed Chinese New Year!
