1999 Public Service Hotline

The telephone and the mobile phone are the most commonly used communication method by the public; therefore, in order to provide the public with a convenient service without being constantly transferred, Taichung City Government especially provides an easily memorized hotline-1999- for the public to receive the most instant and convenient governmental service. Through the hotline, we hope to improve public service efficiency and fully implement the principle of “Public First, Service Never Sleeps” and make it an information center to understand the needs of the public and the service performance of governmental units. Hotline 1999 is the most attentive service to provide access to all professional and innovative public services.

1999 is a 24H hotline with 3 main services:

1999

1.Consulting Service: The person answering will provide basic consultation regarding governmental services and activities.
2.Appeal Service: Take care of pleas, appeals, accusations, feedback, suggestions and non-labor service cases.
3.Labor service: For emergency cases, labor will be sent to deal with the issues after receiving the call; the 15 labor services include:

‧Human or animal noise.
‧Road obstacles and illegal parking
‧Areas in the city where the roads are under construction; areas of the city being re-zoned; bridges; or sidewalks.
‧Manhole damage.
‧Road light damage.
‧Trees affecting road safety.
‧Reporting excessive noise from a factory, construction area, or place of business
‧Reporting environmental pollution.
‧handling large items thrown out in the garbage
‧Cleaning trash road in the road.
‧Road ditch blockage
‧Repair of un-working traffic lights
‧Dangerous or damaged signboards
‧Report vagrants
‧Stray dog reports    

      Taichung citizen can dial 1999 directly through local calls or on mobile phones for free service; we ask the public to be succinct and to the point when using the service for more immediate arrangements. To conserve public resources, please cut a long story short with a limit of 15 minutes; the line will automatically being cut-off after 15 minutes.
