Taichung Literature Museum is a heritage revitalization project located at Lane 46, Lequn St., West Dist., Taichung City, Taiwan. It was a cluster of Japanese officer’s dormitory back in the Japanese colonization in 19th century. There are six main buildings including one for the sheriff. Taichung city government found the site and started the revitalization project in 2010, and considered the prosperous literature atmosphere in the west district, the government decided to turn the old time dormitory into a literature museum to both honor the literature contribution of local artists and to promote literature in Taichung.

Add up to the museum, Taichung city government also plans a literature park just in front of the buildings. The whole designing idea of the park is based on many intriguing Chinese phrase and literature activities, such as a curved water tunnel which resembles the literature game that those who fails to compose a poem or sentence when the glass flows in front of him, he has to drink the wine.

Though Taichung literature Museum is under construction, there are buskers play music and literature lectures and fun activities every weekend. Should you wish to experience the authentic modern and traditional Chinese and Japanese culture, Taichung literature Museum is a place you never want to miss.
