Spa going should not be the patent of winter. Summer spa can be healthy and cool yourself down! To subvert the old idea that you can go spa only in winter, Tourism and Travel Bureau of Taichung City the Government held "Summer Spa + New Food Fashion in Taichung" today (July 11), in which four spa resort hotels joined and offer discount programs. Mayor Jason Hu said, "summer spa makes your skin healthy” and sincerely invited everyone to enjoy spa in Taichung.
A press conference for "Summer Spa + New Food Fashion in Taichung" was held at Freshfields Resort & Conference today. The organizer had suggested Mayor Hu to appear at the press conference in a bathrobe. Mayor Hu rejected the proposal and said humorously, "I would scare guests away if I dress in that way." A burst of laughter was caused among the audience.
Mayor Hu said that if he had been allowed to change the slogan of "Summer Spa + New Food Fashion”, he would have change it into "Summer spa makes your skin healthy” to highlight the fact that too many of us stay in air-conditioned rooms and do not sweat enough. Mayor Hu suggested that we should go spa a lot in summer to help ourselves stay healthy and to have beautiful skin.
The "Summer Spa + New Food Fashion” will commence a series of events at the Freshfields Resort & Conference on July 21, when at the Freshfields, there will be string duet performances, creative cuisine, and summer spa for your enjoyment in a careless and comfortable summer time, said the Tourism and Travel Bureau of Taichung City Government.
In addition, there will be a “Hiking and Spa” event to be held at Dakeng at 15:00 on July 29 and August 5, respectively. On August 11, “Kukuan Rock Music Feast" will be held at the Kukuan Spa Cultural Center, where agricultural products will be on sale, street performers and many other troupes will give music and dance performances. The last but best part of the events will be the presentations of Shirley Maya (秀蘭瑪雅), Li Ming-de (李明德) and Bei Yuan Shan Mao (北原山貓).
All these activities will be held in Kukuan, Dakeng, and Wang Gao Liao. Mayor Hu highlighted that there were “three many” in Wang Gao Liao ten years ago. The first was many couples falling in love went there; the second was too much garbage; and the third was too much blackmail on those loving couples. In contrast, the limbo-like Wang Gao Liao ten years ago has been turned into a beautiful and peaceful park where many couples can now roam without fear among the flowers, the lawns and newly constructed paths.
Mayor Hu stressed that new investments have been moving into Wang Gao Liao, among which the best are the spa resorts. He is very optimistic about the prospects of Wang Gao Liao and would like to request everyone to support Wang Gao Liao.
Taichung City enjoyed a 39.6% year-over-year growth in tourism last year, the best among all the five special municipalities in Taiwan. The number of tourists would increase by about 7 million each year on the average, while it grew by 11 million last year, said Mayor Hu.
