Mayor Hu promoted “low carbon city" vision at World Cities Summit 2012 in Singapore

To attend "World Cities Summit 2012", Mayor Jason Hu and his delegation arrived at Singapore Changi Airport at 14:30 on June 30 and participated in WCS Mayors Forum on July 1. There were more than 100 mayors and governors from around the world taking part in this exclusive platform to discuss six issues. Taichung City was assigned to Group 3 for the theme of "Environmental Sustainability”. Mayor Hu addressed on the topic how he has been promoting the "low carbon city" concept in Taichung City and shared what he has been doing and what he has achieved. His speech won the recognition of all the participating mayors and governors and successfully marketed Taichung City to the world once again.
On the afternoon of July 1, Mayor Hu and his delegation visited MARINA BAY SANDS (MBS). MR. Tanasijevich, president of MBS, made a briefing himself. MBS is a shopping complex consisting of convention centers, shopping malls, and international hotels, each of whose buildings is uniquely designed and MBS has become a new landmark in Singapore since its inception.
World Cities Summit 2012 was held at the Convention Center of MARINA BAY SANDS on July 2 to 4. The 3-day exhibition fair was attended by about 130 environmentally related companies from all over the world, such as IBM, PANASONIC, SHELL and so on. In addition, there were also a number of forums on the various environmental issues and the latest environmental engineering. Participants could choose to take part in any of them freely.
